Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects extended to AMDA to assist Ukraine
On 15 March 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan singed the grant contract with the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA) to implement the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects of JPY105,372,650 for Emergency Relief for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Ukraine.
In response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, AMDA had sent aid workers, including doctors, nurses and coordinators, to Hungary from March to October 2022 to conduct medical relief activities and provided food items, medical supplies, and other necessities for Ukrainian evacuees who fled war zones.
AMDA has been continuously working with Hungarian and Ukrainian humanitarian organizations to deliver assistance. Four local partners in Hungary and Ukraine, namely, MedSpot, “Varda Hagyomanyorzo, Kulturalis Egyesulet”, St. Michael’s Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of Children, and Dynasty Medical Centre, have been collaborating with AMDA to respond to vital needs on the ground.
The Grant Assistance will be implemented by AMDA in collaboration with the aforementioned four local organizations. The grant will be mainly used for purchasing relief items to be delivered to Ukraine.
